The Rt. Rev. Christopher Harper left us in January 2023 to take up his new calling as the new National Indigenous Bishop for the Sacred Circle, the Indigenous church structure within the Anglican Church of Canada.

In the following two years, we engaged in extensive conversations and discernment with the other two Anglican dioceses in our province, Saskatchewan and Qu’Appelle to map our joint future together. On March 8, 2025, we elected The Rev. Chad McCharles from the Diocese of Brandon as our new bishop; he will be consecrated as the 14th Bishop of Saskatoon on June 14, 2025 at St. John’s Cathedral in Saskatoon. We will continue to explore partnering, consolidating services and streamlining resources among the three dioceses,
